Site Manager – Pitched Roofing Project - MUST HAVE ENHANCED DBS

Location: Southampton

Project Duration: 6 months

Start Date: Early October

Project Type: Pitched Roofing – Live/Occupied Environment

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a 6-month pitched roofing project in Southampton, commencing in early October.

The project involves works across multiple sections of occupied buildings, including a school environment. The successful candidate will therefore need to demonstrate a strong track record of managing construction works safely within live and occupied environments, with an uncompromising approach to health and safety.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the roofing works, ensuring the project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Managing the roofing project from mobilisation through to completion.

* Supervising subcontractors, trades, and site operatives.

* Coordinating works across multiple areas and sections of the buildings.

* Maintaining a safe working environment within occupied premises.

* Working closely with the school and other building users to minimise disruption.

* Ensuring site activities comply with RAMS, company procedures, and relevant legislation.

* Maintaining a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental performance.

* Conducting regular site inspections, briefings, and toolbox talks.

* Monitoring site standards, housekeeping, access, and segregation.

* Coordinating deliveries, materials, plant, and site logistics.

* Liaising with the Project Manager, client representatives, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

* Monitoring programme, quality, and workmanship.

* Identifying and addressing potential risks before they become issues.

* Maintaining accurate site records and reporting on project progress.

About You

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Site Manager with either a background in roofing or to have managed roofing packages before, and will be confident managing works in complex, occupied environments. xjnqpsq

Essential Requirements

Candidates must hold the following:

* Enhanced DBS (within the last 3 years)

* SMSTS

* First Aid

* Asbestos Awareness

* Manual Handling

* Working at Height

Previous experience working on pitched roofing projects and/or within schools, occupied buildings, or other live environments is highly desirable.
