Registered Building Inspector

Description

Our client is seeking a Registered Building Inspector to support building control services on a contract basis. The role will involve plan checking, plan assessment and site inspections, with opportunities to work from home or attend site according to operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Reviewing and assessing building control plans for compliance with relevant building regulations

Carrying out detailed plan checking and providing clear technical feedback

Undertaking site inspections at key stages of construction

Managing inspection appointments, including early morning and afternoon visits

Preparing accurate records and reports relating to inspections and plan assessments

Communicating effectively with applicants, contractors, developers and other stakeholders

Working flexibly between home-based duties and on-site inspections

Job Requirements:

Registration as a Registered Building Inspector

Relevant Class 2D or Class 2F competence

Strong experience in building control, plan checking and plan assessment

Knowledge of current building regulations and compliance requirements

Practical experience carrying out building site inspections

Ability to work independently while maintaining accurate documentation

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Flexibility to attend site inspections, including key inspection times

Working Arrangements:

This contract role offers a flexible combination of home-based working and site attendance. Site visits may be required approximately once a week, although arrangements can remain flexible depending on service requirements. xjnqpsq The role may involve working on site for several days during some weeks.
