Location: Tower Hamlets

Contract Type: Full–Time, Permanent (42.5 hours per week)

Salary: GBP35,385.44 per Annum

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team in Tower Hamlets.

You'll carry out a variety of internal painting and decorating tasks across residential properties, Supporting responsive maintenance works.

This is a hands–on role requiring precision, professionalism, and a strong eye for detail. You'll be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying finishes, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. You'll work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team, helping return properties to a lettable or liveable condition efficiently and to a high standard.

Role ResponsibilitiesPreparing and painting internal surfaces including walls, ceilings, doors, and woodworkApplying emulsion, gloss, and specialist finishes with care and accuracyWallpapering and decorative detailing where requiredCarrying out external painting at height using ladders, including fascia boards and soffitsDamp & Mould treatmentEnsuring all work complies with health and safety regulationsSupporting void property refurbishments and reactive maintenance tasksConducting snagging and touch–up work following other tradesMaintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicle to a high standardCommunicating professionally with tenants, clients, and colleaguesCompleting job records and documentation accurately and on timeWorking flexibly to meet deadlines and service expectationsRole CriteriaProven experience in painting and decorating, including wallpaperingExperience in Damp & Mould treatmentsExperience in the above dutiesAbility to work at height and use ladders safelyStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood communication and customer service skillsBasic understanding of health and safety practicesOwn hand tools requiredFull UK driving licenseBenefits25 days annual leaveTraining and development opportunitiesMears Rewards – discounts on groceries, holidays, eye tests, and moreMears Employee Assistance Programme – confidential support for personal and work–related issuesLong service leave – recognition for your commitment over timeShare Save and You Earn scheme – buy shares at a reduced rateCompany van, fuel card, and uniform providedAll our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
