Description

Neighbourhood Officer – Greater Manchester

RG Setsquare is looking for an experienced and motivated Neighbourhood Officer to join a highly rewarding and successful Housing organisation based in Greater Manchester. They create communities where people thrive, deliver high–quality, customer–focused housing management that makes a real difference to their residents' lives. They believe in building safe, sustainable, and inclusive neighbourhoods, and RG Setsquare working in partnership with them are looking for a dedicated housing professional to join their operations team. If you are passionate about community sustainability and excellent customer service, then this is the role for you.

Your new role as Neighbourhood Officer:

As the Neighbourhood Officer, you will be the face of the housing service, taking ownership of estate management, lettings, and tenancy sustainability. Working closely with residents, cross–functional teams, and external agencies, you will ensure the schemes are vibrant, well–maintained, and well–managed places to live. You will have full accountability managing the end–to–end allocations, lettings, and void processes to minimise property turnaround times, provide proactive advice and support to residents on legal tenancy rights, changes, and sustainment. You will enforce tenancy conditions fairly and firmly, addressing estate management issues, property/garden conditions, and minor anti–social behaviour. You will also conduct property inspections, assist residents with welfare reform transitions, housing benefits and champion resident involvement by working with local tenants' groups to promote community cohesion and effective consultation.

The Experience & Qualifications Required:

You will have proven experience in social housing management or a closely related customer–facing sector, up to date knowledge of relevant housing legislations, excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations and challenging conversations. You will also possess strong organisational skills to manage administrative tasks, reports, and correspondence accurately.
