Electrical Design Engineer – Contract

Choice of 2 Offices in the North-west | Hybrid Working | £40–£43 per hour Outside IR35 | Immediate Start

An established building services consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support residential, commercial and education projects. This contract offers hybrid working from either Manchester or Liverpool, with an immediate start.

You will deliver electrical design packages across RIBA Stages 2–5, predominantly focusing on detailed design, while managing project delivery and maintaining clear communication with clients.

Key responsibilities

* Independently undertake electrical calculations and produce detailed design packages.

* Manage project workloads, deadlines and coordination with the wider design team.

* Provide clients with project updates, resolve technical issues and confidently challenge requests where necessary.

* Carry out QA checks to ensure designs are accurate, coordinated and compliant.

* Undertake site visits and surveys, addressing issues as projects progress.

About you

* At least 10 years’ UK-based electrical design experience within building services.

* Experience delivering residential, commercial or education projects.

* Strong detailed design expertise and the ability to complete work autonomously.

* Excellent communication, client management and project management skills.

* Confidence to provide sound technical advice and push back constructively on client requests. xjnqpsq
