This is a vintage E. Schmeckenbecher Black Forest Cuckoo Clock from West Germany
Above cuckoo clock for sale
It has a little bit of wood damage to the roof of the clock ( please see photos)
Has been in the loft for about 20 years
I remember it as a child it used to be fully working.
This is not battery operated and is a wind up mechanism
I have checked to see if it works and it seems to be semi working. You move the hands round and the cuckoo comes out and opens it mouth very slowly and makes a noise
But the pendulum won’t swing on its own.
So I don’t know what the problem is
I don’t have any instructions and don’t remember how to set the time to start it working
It may just need a service or a clean as it has been in the loft for so long
It is around 41 years old and has been in our family all that time.
