Description

Hi!

**Glasgow West End**
If you would like to learn music either in a POP or CLASSICAL style then come and book some lessons with me! : )

The first lesson is always an informal chat over a 10-15 minute meet up (free of charge)

Practicing music is good for building confidence, good mental health, arithmetic, problem-solving, self-discipline. I'm passionate about teaching music, because it brings a lot of beauty and magic and meaning into our lives. I set milestones and goals together with each individual student (and parent) so that you can create your own unique journey. Learning an instrument or writing a new song can be just for your or a great present for a family member for Christmas, birthdays, or anniversary.

Group lessons are available for siblings.
Short courses available for adult learners.

2025 Booking Options available.
Spaces are limited and first come first served.
Studio is based in WhiteInch by Partick.

Option 1) My most popular music class just now is : Ongoing 1-1 lessons in beginner instruments, with music theory. Rock and/or Pop and/or Classical. Any age. 30mins £20 per lesson, payment beginning of each month in monthly blocks. (guitar, piano)
After each lesson you receieve a lesson summary via email

Option 2) 8 week-long songwriting and/or theory and/or singing and performing lessons. In this course you have the option to workshop 1 brand new song. You do not need to have any experience to take this option. You can bring song ideas to the sessions if you want or start from scratch. We explore for example: melody, lyrics, production, arrangement, chords, accompaniment, recording, structure, harmony, studio production, and more! Each course is tailored to the student. Each student is unique. I encourage students to bring an instrument of choice, but this is not necessary as I have many here. You do not have to be a singer to do this, but you will most probably be required to use words during writing. You don't need any previous experience with writing or recording. If you do have experience, please send exampled of this to me when you message. 45mins lessons at £40 per lesson payment upfront for block of 8.

Option 3) 4-12 week tutoring plan for highschool age or college music exams, including instrumental practice, homework, studying, school exam practice, music exam practice, or music studio and production practice. £20 for 30 mins or £40 for 45 mins (flexi options avail)

About me:
I have 1.8 million views on a Youtube video! and millions plays on Spotify. I am a qualified performing musician and writer. My music has been played on the radio a lot, I've toured with a lot of bands, music I've written has appeared on BBC Iplayer programmes and I am a working composer and session musician. I am a singing voice in a video game Planet Of Lana. I'm currently scoring a video game soundtrack called The Heirloom. I record and produce music from my studio.
I have Grade 8 dist. in cello, and Grade 8 dist. in piano.
I have a masters in music composition from Edinburgh University. All my students who have taken Trinity or ABRSM exams have pass with merit or higher.
I'm nice!!! I'm not a scary music teacher. Music is my passion, and I feel very happy when I teach somebody who is interested in music. I'm an all-round teacher, because I'm a producer and a composer. This means that I am very versatile as a teacher. I really enjoy learning about the student's interests as a way to keep lessons interesting, including as an eaxmple, using Taylor Swift songs to teach about music theory.

1-1 classes. I also teach small groups or sibilings and offer flexi options. I teach from my production studio set up.

I have a very organised approach to creating safety, inclusion, and well-being during my classes. I'm a highly responsible individual who puts the safety of students first. I ahve a full PVG chcek.

If you have specific needs or timeframes, or something you want help with that hasn't been mentioned in this description, the best thing is to call me and ask first.

While I encourage all of my students to take exams, as they are a great way of measuring the progress they have made, exams are not necessary. I do encourage live performances and milestones, or recordings, for short courses or long courses.

I can teach:
Beginner guitar
Beginner piano/keyboard
Help with music exams at highschool
Song-writing
Music Theory
Composition

Beginner cello
Beginner bass
Beginner audio engineering
French

Every lesson has a little bit of music theory. Some people think theory is boring, but I promise it's not!

Music is a great social skill and method of communication that helps both children and adults express themselves. I teach music to give back some of the skills I learned to those who want to benefit from playing and practicing and writing. It is important that my students are enjoying their lessons. For that reason I use my classical education but incorporate lots of contemporary and modern music where possible to keep students as engaged as possible in learning.

Looking forward to meeting you soon :) Get in touch to discuss info, requirements and availability.
