Job Overview

Musselburgh Golf Club is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and experienced part-time Chef to join our kitchen team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a friendly environment, takes pride in producing great food and can deliver excellent service to both our members and visitors.

The Role

You will be responsible for preparing and serving a range of food, mainly breakfasts and lunches, ensuring every dish is prepared to a high standard and served promptly.

The role offers flexible part-time hours, including a mixture of midweek and weekend shifts. There is no evening work required.

You will need to be confident working independently, as there will be occasions when you are working in the kitchen on your own. Our kitchen experiences both busy periods and quieter times, so the ability to work efficiently, use your initiative and manage your time effectively is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch dishes to a consistently high standard. Deliver prompt, friendly and professional food service to members and visitors. Work independently and as part of a team. Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen at all times. Ensure all food is correctly labelled and stored. Keep all food temperature records accurate and up to date. Use your initiative to manage your workload and keep the kitchen running smoothly during both busy and quieter periods.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous professional kitchen experience and is confident working independently. Has a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed. Is reliable, honest, hardworking and takes pride in their work. Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively. Can remain calm and organised during busy service periods. Understands the importance of food hygiene, cleanliness and safe food handling.
