Description

We are looking for compassionate and proactive female support workers to support a 26-year-old woman with Autism and special needs in her daily life. This is a fulfilling role with a mix of personal care and activity-based support — ideal for someone kind, enthusiastic, and reliable.

About the Role

You’ll be supporting an energetic and engaging young woman who is mostly non-verbal and requires assistance with personal care and daily routines. She enjoys a mix of home-based activities and outings, and thrives with caring, attentive support.

Required Availability

Weekday shifts from 4.30pm Weekend shifts from 10am, mornings and afternoons To apply, you must be available for at least 1 x 3 hour shift per week Please note: We have a team of support workers, a number of whom are students or have other jobs, so we are looking for individuals with a bit of flexibility in terms of availability.

Your responsibilities will include:

Personal care and managing behaviour

Prompting and supporting with toileting Managing incontinence and prompting pad changes Occasional showering assistance at home (if soiled) Managing instances of difficult behaviour (when she gets overwhelmed or upset)

At-home activities

Arts & crafts, puzzles, and other creative, home-based tasks Encouraging participation and developing new ideas

Day trips & community engagement

Outings to museums, parks, cafés, events, etc.

Supporting her at music groups, choir, and other social activities Assisting with potential part-time work or volunteering

Exercise & physical activity

Gym sessions, swimming, cycling, and other active outings

Planning & initiative

Suggesting new activities or outings (we will review and approve any paid ones) Helping her explore the city and maintain a varied, engaging routine

Who We’re Looking For

Female applicants only (due to personal care requirements) Patient, respectful, and caring Being comfortable with hands-on personal care, including incontinence support Being proactive and creative - able to plan meaningful activities Independent, dependable, and good at problem-solving Being calm, particularly when there is challenging behaviour (that we will support with) Experience with autism or support work is helpful but not required (we will provide hands on training; there are experienced team members you will be paired with as part of the training) Often ideal for students or support workers / carers, but open to all backgrounds​

Other Details

Some prior experience is helpful but not necessary – hands on training provided on the job Long-term commitment preferred Enhanced DBS check will be required (will be arranged for you) References will be requested before a job offer is made
