SEN Nanny / Manny – Harrogate, HG1 A full-time SEN position focused on development, therapy, and fun! Support an affectionate, cheeky 5-year-old boy with additional needs. £46,800 gross per annum.

Nearest Station: Harrogate

Salary: £46,800 gross per annum | £18.00 gross per hour + annual bonus + benefits (incl. annual health screening)

Driving Requirements: Yes — automatic car available on duty; own car preferred (mileage paid)

Essential: Experience supporting children with additional needs; calm under pressure; professional and composed; non-smoker/vaper Desirable: Experience with epilepsy (training provided); basic cooking skills

Start Date: January 2026 Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–6:30pm. Occasional Saturday mornings and babysitting by agreement. Option to alternate a Friday for a Saturday every second week—please enquire.

About Zach: Zach (5) is bright, affectionate, energetic, and loves nursery rhymes, running around, playing with the family dog, spending time with his baby brother Ollie (8 months), and exploring outdoors. He has Dravet Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy. Thanks to new medication and a strict ketogenic diet, his seizures are now infrequent, occurring only a few times a month and typically mildly. Clear seizure protocols are in place, and full training will be provided. Zach is non-verbal but communicates confidently and effectively via his iPad talker.

Role Overview: This is a varied and rewarding role supporting Zach’s daily routine, therapy goals, and communication. You’ll receive full training in seizure management and his communication system, enabling you to feel confident in his care. Duties include supporting play-based learning, preparing ketogenic meals, completing nursery duties, and assisting with baby Ollie when Zach is at school. Light errands may also be required. Additional weekend and babysitting hours are available and paid separately. The family are currently in St Albans and will relocate to Harrogate in the New Year. Weekend rate: £19.00 gross per hour.
