Description
Framed, late 18th early 19th century antique bronze longcase clock dial, by Winstanley of Holywell.
The dial is signed "Winstanley, HOLYWELL," referring to the Winstanley family of clockmakers who worked in Holywell, Flintshire, North Wales.
The Winstanley family was active in the 18th and 19th centuries, with notable clockmakers including John Winstanley (working 1791-1835) and Thomas Winstanley (working 1791-1844).
This brass dial features Roman numerals for hours, Arabic numerals for minutes (in increments of 5), and decorative floral spandrels in the corners. Great interior design of could turn into a quartz wall clock.
