Graduate Town Planner

Location: Newmarket, Suffolk

Salary: Competitive + benefits

An established and growing planning consultancy is looking to appoint a Graduate Town Planner to join its team in Newmarket. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate (or someone early in their planning career) to gain hands-on experience across a diverse portfolio of projects while being supported in their professional development.

The Role

You will work closely with experienced planners and consultants, supporting on a wide range of planning applications and projects across sectors such as residential, commercial, and rural development. Responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications and appeals

Conducting site appraisals and planning research

Supporting the preparation of planning statements and reports

Liaising with local authorities, clients, and other stakeholders

Keeping up to date with planning policy and legislationAbout You

A degree (or postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related discipline

An interest in working towards MRTPI accreditation (support will be provided)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Good organisational skills with attention to detail

A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
