Please note, this is a temporary position paid on a weekly PAYE basis and will require an immediate start, notice periods cannot be accommodated.

Temporary Assistant Accountant Responsibilities

This position will involve, but will not be limited to:

Posting bank transactions and reconciling all company bank accounts to ensure accurate cash flow reports

Managing credit control and raising sales ledger invoices to support revenue management

Assisting the Management Accountant with balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy

Preparing journals at month end, including prepayments and accruals for timely financial closing

Maintaining fixed asset master data and posting depreciation journals for accurate asset tracking

Supporting analytical reviews and investigating variances to maintain financial integrity

Providing assistance during the annual audit process to facilitate smooth compliance and reporting

Undertaking any additional finance duties as required to support team efficiency

Temporary Assistant Accountant Rewards

Competitive hourly rate of £15.38 plus holiday pay

Parking available on-site for convenience

Immediate start with a contract duration of approximately 6 months

Temporary Assistant Accountant Experience Essentials

Relevant accounting or finance qualification, or studying towards this

Previous experience working within a finance or accounts team

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Proficient IT skills, especially in Excel

Clear and professional communication abilities

Capable of working proactively and independently

Able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines

Flexible approach to work and problem-solving

Location

The role is based in an accessible location with good transport links and on-site parking. Candidates should be able to start immediately and commit to the full assignment duration.
