Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides everyday banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Surveillance Officer for a 3-month contract based in Manchester / London/ Edinburgh. It will be a hybrid model.

Purpose of the role:

As a Surveillance Officer, where you'll monitor trading communications through surveillance checks and fact-finding reviews to ensure compliance with market conduct policies. You'll also help enhance existing surveillance systems and support the development of new technology solutions, while building strong analytical skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

As a Surveillance Officer you will be responsible for:

Monitor trading, communications, and conduct risks using surveillance tools to identify potential policy breachesAnalyse alerts and flagged activity, escalating issues appropriatelyConduct in-depth investigations using market and source dataProactively identify risks and support control enhancements and surveillance improvementsContribute to the surveillance programme and stay up to date with regulatory and policy changesWhat we require from the candidate:

Experience or strong interest in financial services / investment bankingStrong analytical, logical thinking and attention to detailAbility to analyse multiple data sources to support risk-based decision makingKnowledge of trading processes, products, and equities/fixed income regulationsTechnically capable of solving complex problems using data, with adaptability to changeStrong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience in projects and supporting policies/proceduresNext steps

This client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
