Small Work Estimator (Full Time)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in assessing project costs and ensuring that budgets align with client expectations. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cost control methodologies and be able to provide accurate estimates that contribute to the overall success of projects.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates for various projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and other documentation.

Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather relevant information for accurate estimations.

Conduct thorough market research to identify material costs, labour rates, and other expenses associated with projects.

Monitor project budgets and provide recommendations for cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.

Review and adjust estimates based on changes in project scope or client requirements.

Maintain comprehensive records of estimates, including methodologies used and assumptions made.

Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers to clarify project details and negotiate pricing where necessary.

Experience

Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry is preferred.

Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.

Proficiency in using estimation software and tools is advantageous.

Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex information clearly.
