Interim Financial Controller

Interim Financial Controller |6-month Contract | Hybrid | North London (some office attendance required)

We are looking for an Interim Financial Controller for an initial 6-month contract. Supporting a well-established, values-led housing organisation during a period of change and reorganisation, to ensure the year-end and Business as Usual finance runs efficiently and accurately.

The Role

This is a senior, hands-on role, ideal for an experienced Financial Controller who can quickly take ownership of financial control, statutory reporting and team leadership within a regulated environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading, motivating and developing the Finance Team

Full ownership of financial control and statutory reporting, including year-end accounts and audit

Oversight of month-end close, management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations

Cashflow forecasting and liquidity monitoring to support funding requirements

Responsibility for tax matters including VAT, Corporation Tax and charitable reliefs

Delivery of regulatory and statutory returns in line with sector requirements

Oversight of transactional finance

Rent setting compliance in line with regulatory standards

Partnering with Treasury and Business Planning on forecasts and financial planning

Production of clear, concise reports for senior stakeholders, Board and Committees

Driving process improvement and strengthening financial controls

Acting as deputy to senior leadership within Resources when required

About You

You will be a confident interim who can add value quickly and operate effectively in a complex environment. xjnqpsq

You will bring:

Full CCAB (or equivalent) accountancy qualification

Significant post-qualification experience in a senior financial accounting role within Social Housing

Proven experience producing statutory accounts and leading external audit

Strong technical accounting knowledge

Advanced Excel skills

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management capability

The ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
