IBA Accounts Lead

Are you an experienced Insurance Broking Accounting (IBA) professional ready to take the next step in your career? We're looking for a confident, solutions-focused Accounts Lead to oversee our clients IBA function, drive continuous improvement across their broking systems, and lead a high-performing team.

This is a pivotal role within a business based in Borehamwood, ensuring the smooth running of daily accounting operations, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting the company's growth with accurate, insightful reporting.

What you'll be doing

Oversee all elements of Insurance Broking Accounting (IBA), including:Daily and monthly bank reconciliations across statutory, non-statutory, and risk transfer accountsProcessing of premiums, claims, commissions, return premiums, and feesBordereaux reporting and reconciliationMaintaining accurate insurer and client ledger balancesMonitoring cash collection, settlements, and credit controlEnsure full compliance with CASS rules and all Client Money regulationsManage risk transfer arrangements and non-statutory trust accountsMaintain strong financial controls to minimise risk and ensure regulatory complianceLead improvements and enhancements across multiple broking platformsDefine and validate finance-related technical specificationsOversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure successful system implementationReview and streamline processes for greater efficiency, accuracy, and controlLine manage, coach, and develop the IBA teamProvide regular feedback, guidance, and performance supportBuild a motivated, accountable, high-performing team cultureManage recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance cycles in line with HFIS proceduresAct as a primary contact for insurers, auditors, regulators, and internal teamsPartner with senior management to provide timely and accurate financial reportingWork closely with IT, operations, and compliance to align processes and objectivesOut client is looking for a candidate who has significant experience in Insurance Broking Accounting (IBA). This is essential to this role.

The successful candidate will have:

Strong working knowledge of CASSExperience with multiple broking systemsDemonstrated success in driving IT/system improvementsExcellent leadership and people-management skillsStrong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levelsHighly organised, analytical, and calm under pressureProfessional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or QBEFamiliarity with FCA regulation and reporting

This role will require full attendance in the office for initial 6 months with some scope of home working at a later date. You therefore must be able to commute to Borehamwood.
