Job Purpose:

An outstanding opportunity for an experienced and highly-motivated Financial Controller.

The role will be responsible for all financial activities within the company and the further development of local business systems, together with business partnering with the wider leadership team and Lucy Group finance teams.

Business Overview:

Blakley Electrics is a UK manufacturer specialising in high performance power distribution, protection, transformer and lighting products, supplying sectors including construction, industrial, rail, nuclear and events. The company has operated for over 65 years and manufactures in house to ISO9001:2015 standards.

Job Context:

Financial Control and Records:

Responsibility for effective financial control systems, processes and proceduresResponsibility for maintenance of financial records.Responsibility for compliance with Group Policies and ProceduresResponsibility for all areas of the year-end auditFinancial oversight and auditing of perpetual inventory counting Cash management

Financial Reporting:Responsibility for financial reporting to local business management.Responsibility for company reporting to Group.Responsibility for company tax pack reporting to Group.Responsibility for company statutory accounts Development of management reporting

Financial Planning:

Responsibility for quarterly forecasts.Responsibility for annual budgetCash management and preparation of cash flow forecastsPreparation and co-ordination of medium-term management plan

Business Partnering:

Collaborate with the Managing Director and the leadership team to provide financial information to support decision makingCollaborate with Group Financial Planning & Analysis, Group Tax and Group Treasury.Develop financial and operating management informationReview and analyse major sales tenders Supporting business initiatives (e.g. outsourcing, cost control and cost reduction)Fixed asset investment appraisalProvide the sales and commercial teams with appropriate customer payment solutions, to minimise company risk

Costing:Management of product costing activities including:Annual preparation of product standard costsVariance analysis & reporting oversightSupport for major tendering activities

Management of Finance Team:

Management of local finance teamEmployee performance managementEmployee development Develop Business Processes and SystemsLead the continued development of the Epicor ERP business systemImplement "best practices" supported with appropriate performance metricsResponsibility for development of financial reporting capabilities

To perform tasks commensurate with the position, and to have a flexible approach and attitude

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience

Working in a deadline orientated financial organisation. Ability to create and use financial models for development and analysis of the business.Fully qualified accountant or finalist (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Recognised accountancy bodyEffective communication and interpersonal skills at all levelsAbility to influence and direct peopleMust be able to work independently for significant periods of time Ability to demonstrate effective team working across all disciplines within the companyAble to prioritise workload effectivelyAbility to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality and attention to detailAbility to integrate local and Group financial policies and procedures
