This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop or apply their expertise within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Act as a primary point of contact for clients and local authorities, resolving queries relating to assessments, reliefs, exemptions, and appeals

Identify and apply relevant reliefs and exemptions to reduce client liabilities

Manage payment cycles, reconciliations, refunds, and credit balances

Prepare reports, forecasts, and analysis to support cost-saving initiatives

Support historical rates audits and data reviews where required

Build and maintain strong client relationships, attending meetings and calls as needed

Ensure compliance with internal controls, statutory requirements, and service KPIs

Skills & Experience

Experience working with business rates liabilities, including calculations, reliefs, exemptions, and refunds

Understanding of rating principles, valuation methodologies, and relevant case law

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly to clients and stakeholders

Confident dealing with billing authorities and resolving disputes or discrepancies

Good numerical and financial skills, with experience in reporting and analysis
