Our client, a well-established accountancy practice based in Camberley, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. * Record and categorise income, expenditure, sales and purchase transactions accurately.

* Process financial information from bank statements, invoices, receipts and other client records.

* Prepare and maintain clear, accurate bookkeeping spreadsheets and supporting schedules.

* Complete bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and resolve queries.

* Review financial records, identify errors or missing information, and ensure everything is up to date.

* Liaise directly with clients to obtain outstanding records and information.

VAT & Compliance

* Prepare VAT returns using accounting software and Excel records.

* Review transactions and ensure the correct VAT treatment is applied.

* Submit VAT returns to HMRC where authorised.

* Maintain accurate VAT records and supporting working papers.

* Keep on top of deadlines to ensure all client work is completed accurately and on time.

Client Support & Administration

* Prepare and send accounts, tax returns and other documents to clients for review and approval.

* Arrange electronic signatures and follow up on outstanding approvals.

* Request and organise client information and documentation.

* Maintain well-organised digital files, client records and internal task lists.

* Prepare professional client emails and routine correspondence.

* Assist with day-to-day HMRC and Companies House administration.

* Work closely with accountants and colleagues to keep client work progressing smoothly.

* Provide general administrative support to the bookkeeping and accounts team.

What We're Looking For

* Previous experience in bookkeeping, ideally within an accountancy practice.

* Good working knowledge of VAT and an understanding of payroll processes.

* Confidence using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

* Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.

* A proactive approach to problem-solving and investigating discrepancies. xjnqpsq
