Accounts Manager Employer: Vibra Energy Ltd Location: Slough, Berkshire (office-based with some flexibility) Salary: Negotiable Job Type: Full-time or Part-Time, permanent

About Us Vibra Energy Ltd is a fast-growing energy efficiency and retrofit contractor accredited under PAS 2030:2023 and PAS 2035:2023. We deliver ECO4, GBIS, insulation, solar PV, heating, and retrofit solutions across the UK. We are seeking a proactive Accounts Manager to take ownership of our finance function and support the company’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate day-to-day ledgers.

Invoicing & Credit Notes: Raise invoices, process credit notes, manage cycles and credit control/aged debt (incl. customer portals).

Purchase Orders & Suppliers: Process POs, reconcile supplier invoices, resolve queries; oversee supplier onboarding (KYC, insurance, contracts).

Banking: Weekly BACS payment runs, remittance advice, and dual-authorisation controls; daily/weekly bank reconciliations.

VAT (MTD): Prepare and submit VAT returns; handle HMRC queries.

CIS: Verify subcontractors, submit monthly CIS returns, issue statements, and reconcile CIS deductions.

Month-End Close: Post journals, accruals/prepayments, reconcile balance sheet, produce management accounts by a set timetable.

Job/Project Costing: Maintain cost codes by job/property/measure, WIP and margin analysis; reconcile to delivery reports.

Forecasting & Reporting: 13-week cash-flow, P&L, KPI dashboards; support budgeting.

Payroll Support: Liaise with payroll provider for accurate and timely payments.

Audit & Compliance: Liaise with external auditors, Chartered Accountants, and regulatory bodies; support year-end and Companies House filings (via accountants).

Systems & Controls: Improve processes (PO policy, approvals matrix), optimise tools (Xero/Sage/QuickBooks + Dext/ApprovalMax), ensure data protection/confidentiality.

Accounts Queries: Resolve supplier, subcontractor, and internal finance queries promptly and professionally.

Company Health Monitoring: Track and report profit, turnover, liabilities, and cash runway.

Essential Requirements

AAT Level 3+ (AAT/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified desirable).

Solid experience in bookkeeping, CIS, VAT (MTD), and management accounts.

Proficient with Xero/Sage/QuickBooks and Excel (pivot tables, lookups, forecasting).

Proven liaison with auditors/accountants and non-finance stakeholders.

High attention to detail, strong organisation, and problem-solving.

Desirable

Sector experience (construction/retrofit/energy).

Knowledge of ECO/GBIS finance reporting and CIS for subcontractors.

Experience implementing finance systems/controls.
