A fresh, new approach to tuition, built around how your child learns, based on real life, fun activities that ensure success. Every lesson is planned specifically for your child.

I adapt sessions to make them easier to engage with, such as by breaking them down into chunks, encouraging fidget toys, including practical work, providing a clear structure - whatever helps YOUR child. I feel self-confidence and learning qualities go hand in hand with progress, so children receive clear, positive feedback and we develop an ‘I don’t know YET’ approach that encourages children to feel getting things wrong is just part of the journey.

My rate is £35 per hour, which includes a starter set of learning resources, including an exercise book. I may not be the cheapest, but my rates reflect my extensive experience and qualifications and the time and care I put into preparing every lesson. I also offer a free trial lesson so we can ensure we are a great fit. I have an enhanced DBS check and can provide references if needed.

I have 40 years experience in secondary and primary schools, including 20 years as a successful head. I'm also a qualified maths specialist and have extensive experience with a wide range of special needs. I've been tutoring for over 2 years now, simply because I love teaching so much - and I really enjoy working individually with children.

Activities are practical, fun, relevant, and designed with built-in success so your child can build confidence and a genuine desire to learn. In the past, this has included projects around the Titanic, travel, favourite books, cooking, art, and even my cats, who often make a guest appearance! Lessons are delivered on Zoom using PowerPoints with interactive annotation, videos and support for practical activities.
