Buying a used Nissan
The things you need to know
Frequently Asked Questions
The Nissan Ariya is one of Nissan’s longest-range electric models. Official range varies by version, battery size and driving conditions, so buyers should check the exact model specification before buying.
The Nissan Qashqai e-POWER and Juke Hybrid are among the most popular Nissan hybrid options. The Qashqai suits family SUV buyers, while the Juke is a smaller crossover option.
The Nissan Qashqai is one of the most popular used Nissan models in the UK and is commonly available on Gumtree. The Juke and Micra are also popular choices for SUV and small-car buyers.
The Nissan X-Trail has one of the highest listed luggage capacities among Nissan passenger models on Gumtree, at around 550 litres. Buyers should compare exact versions because luggage capacity can vary by seating layout and model year.
Based on UK insurance groups, lower-powered Nissan Micra and Pixo versions are typically among the cheapest Nissan models to insure. Insurance costs still depend on the exact version, driver profile, location and insurer.

How to find the best Nissan deals on Gumtree
To find the best Nissan deals on Gumtree, use filters to narrow your search by model, price, mileage, and location. Focus on popular models that offer strong value and availability. Check new listings frequently, as the best deals sell quickly, and look for private sellers who provide full details and maintenance history. Always verify the car’s MOT history and V5 registration document before committing.
Types of sellers you’ll find on Gumtree
Private sellers: Individuals selling their own Nissan; usually cheaper with no dealer fees and room for negotiation, though they offer no warranty.
Dealers / Trade Sellers: Includes independent sellers and official Nissan dealerships. Prices are typically higher, but they often provide extra protection, finance options, and added peace of mind.
Top things to check when buying a used Nissan
Check the MOT History: Use the free UK Government MOT Check service to look for passes, failures, and recurring advisories.
Review the Service History: Ensure the car has a documented history of regular maintenance and oil changes.
Buy a Full Vehicle History Report: Use services like HPI to check if the car has been written off, stolen, or has outstanding finance.
Can I finance a used Nissan?
Yes, you can finance a used Nissan to spread the cost into monthly payments. On Gumtree, you can explore finance options directly from listings via CarMoney. This allows you to compare deals and check eligibility without affecting your credit score.
