EDC (Electronic Diesel Control) is a high-pressure electronic fuel injection system and engine control unit found in many diesel vehicles in the UK, including popular models like the BMW 3 Series and Volkswagen Golf TDI. When the EDC warning light illuminates on your dashboard, it indicates an issue with the engine's electronic control system that requires professional diagnosis at a garage. The system can be temporarily turned off using the OFF button, but will automatically reactivate when you restart your vehicle. To operate the EDC system: 1) Press the brake pedal, 2) Press the start/stop button, 3) Wait for dashboard lights to activate, then 4) Press the OFF button to disable. Note that EDC may also refer to Electronic Damper Control in some premium vehicles like Mercedes-Benz and Range Rover models, which manages the electronic suspension system.
