7There is currently no suitable substitute for brake fluid. Due to differing chemical compositions, other oils cannot perform the original function of brake fluid. Using alternative oils to replace brake fluid will not only diminish braking performance but may also lead to brake failure.
Brake fluid is a hydraulic liquid formulated from refined diesel distillates, thickeners, and anti-oxidants. There are three principal types of brake fluid: mineral oil brake fluid, alcohol-based brake fluid, and synthetic brake fluid.
Brake fluid requirements: It must exhibit excellent viscosity-temperature characteristics to function effectively across a wide range of low temperatures, alongside possessing superior oxidation stability, anti-foaming properties, resistance to rubber swelling, and rust prevention capabilities.
