Kia is a South Korean car manufacturer, originally founded as Korea's first vehicle maker before merging with Hyundai in 2000 to form Hyundai Motor Group. The Kia name means 'to arise from Asia', and its UK model range includes popular cars like the Kia Sportage SUV, Kia Niro hybrid, and Kia EV6 electric vehicle. Kia's logo features stylised 'KIA' lettering in a red oval, representing an eagle in flight to symbolise ambition. While not a British brand, Kia has significant UK operations including a design centre in Worcestershire and ranks among Britain's top-selling car brands alongside Ford, Vauxhall and Volkswagen.
