For most UK family cars like the Volkswagen Golf or Ford Focus, 400Nm of torque is considered strong. While heavy vehicles like the Range Rover may exceed 1000Nm, 400Nm provides ample pulling power for typical family driving needs on British roads and motorways. Torque alone doesn't determine performance - it must be considered alongside engine power (bhp), gearing, and vehicle weight. Popular UK family models with around 400Nm include diesel versions of the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which offer excellent real-world drivability.
