To enable automatic window closing when locking your BMW in the UK, press and hold the lock button on your key fob after manually closing all windows. This feature is available on most modern BMW models including the 3 Series, 5 Series and electric i4.

First, ensure all windows are fully closed manually. Then locate your BMW's key fob - for models like the BMW iX or 4 Series, you'll need to press and hold the lock button for 3-5 seconds until the windows begin to rise. Some newer models may require you to enable this feature through the iDrive system under Vehicle Settings > Doors/Windows.

Popular UK BMW models that support this feature include:

  • BMW 1 Series (2020 onwards)
  • BMW 3 Series (G20)
  • BMW i4 electric
  • BMW X3

If the feature doesn't work, check your owner's manual as some models may require dealer activation. Remember this only works when using the physical key fob, not the Comfort Access touch-sensitive door handles.
