Description

This is a very capable bike. The little maintenance it needs, helped by the shaft drive, can be done by a moderately skilled mechanic with basic tools.
It starts second time, whatever the weather and time left standing. Electronic ignition, no other electronics, so it starts even if left standing for weeks (no need for maintenance charger).
I used this for distance commuting without any trouble. No oil top-up needed between services. Having moved to within walking distance of work, I don't need this bike.
Does motorway speed at about 5000rpm. I change gear before 7000rpm. Shaft drive is maintainable free and does not affect handling.
New carburettor inlet manifolds. Good tyres. Heated grips. Muffs. Full lockable luggage.
Handling is solid, more than lighter bikes like MT07. Heavy when stationary but fine once rolling. I find it accurate and regularly filter through tight traffic without concern.
Excellent tank range of about 240 miles. Consumes just under 1 litre fuel for 10 miles.
Uses standard 10W40 oil. Air cooled engine with eight valves, simple, with classic looks.
Cost of ownership is minimal for a such a capable machine. Insurance cost is ok too.
