Description

Due to arrive in January 2026. Very tidy, low mileage TZR250R 3XV. These photos were taken by our colleagues in Japan. Fresh photos and a video will be taken when it arrives.
There’s nothing like the sound of a 2-stroke and as we march deeper into the future, ever nearer the extinction of the internal combustion engine, it’s a sound we hear less and less.
Back in the late eighties and early nineties, however, two stroke race replicas were a common sight, and right up there with the best was the TZR. Following on from the RD (although a very different bike) and based on the track bike TZ, the TZR provided plenty of zing but with control and cornering balance that made you feel safe – relatively.
First came the 1KT (2MA) in the UK, then in 1989 Yamaha released the 3MA, now with reverse cylinders. Much of the rest of the bike stayed the same. It was still super light and thin, still had the parallel twin. Then the 3XV V-twin, the one we have here.
In Fiat livery, the overall condition is excellent. There is a crack in the fairing below the right footpeg but otherwise the bodywork, rims, etc. are in superb condition.
The TZR was a really great road bike that made you want to thrash it around the back lanes of Britain. Which goes some way towards explaining why you don’t see many these days – a lot of them ended up on their sides. What we have here is a super low-mileage example in beautiful condition. The tank looks stunning and the forks, engine, swingarm, seat, bars and fenders are all lovely.

Price includes UK registration. These pictures were taken in Japan. Fresh pictures and a video will be taken when it arrives.
This bike can be reserved with a 30% deposit. Since it is still in transit, the deposit is fully refundable.
