1987 Yamaha RD500
Introduced by Yamaha in 1984 off the back of their successful GP results with Kenny Roberts
The bike was basically a detuned and more approachable version of the YZR500 race bike
Fitted with a powerful four-cylinder, 500cc, two-stroke engine with Yamaha's variable exhaust port timing YPVS system
Race suspension and lightweight, track-inspired handling made the bike a fearsome machine
This matching numbers, UK-registered example is presented in running order
Fitted with original panels (marked 47X) and will have the front fairing grille in place by the time of auction
Mileage discrepancy: actual mileage 13,655 miles and still retains its original exhaust system
Anti-dive system included in the sale, was removed by previous owner to improve braking
Rare example in very original condition
