Near Alford, Aberdeenshire.
This is a big piece of exotic hardwood. I'm not sure what it is, maybe Greenheart or Opepe ?
One side is ok and will plane and polish nicely, the other side has a waney edge/split off. It is a very unusual timber. Make an excellent bench etc. 67 inches long, 13 inches wide and 2 and a quarter inches thick.
