This item is a Christofle silver-plated woven wine basket from the esteemed French silversmiths, part of their "Gallia" collection. Stored in its original box and in pristine condition. Silver-plated over a base metal like copper or nickel silver, it was made in France but often associated with Italian designer Lino Sabattini. Designed to hold a standard 750 ml bottle of wine for serving or pouring, this vintage piece is generally from the mid-to-late 20th century, often marked as post-1940. It has a distinctive woven wire design and a twisted carrying handle. Christofle is a highly respected name in luxury silverware, and its value is driven by brand recognition and craftsmanship rather than the raw silver content.
