Beautiful west end watch company sowar watch used daily. Keeps time and looks cool with cream patina and a small second dial and new green nato strap. I found some history that you can read here hopefully that’s all correct as I’m not an expert.
This is a vintage West End Watch Co. Sowar wristwatch. The Sowar model was named after the elite troops of the Indian army and has a history spanning over a century.
The West End Watch Company was established in Bombay, India, in 1886 to export Swiss watches to the region.
The 'Sowar' model name was registered in 1938 and became one of the company's most famous products.
The watches were known for being hardwearing and practical, often featuring dust and moisture-resistant cases.
It is said that T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) and his soldiers wore West End watches during the war.
