Job Title: Team Leader – Fruit Packing for Fruits in the City Ltd

Location:

Fruits in the City Ltd – Unit 24 New Broompark, Edinburgh, EH5 1RS

Job Purpose:

The Team Leader will oversee the daily fruit packing operation, managing a small team to ensure orders are packed accurately, on time, and to the required quality standards. The role includes responsibility for cleanliness, stock ordering, security of the premises, and smooth day-to-day running of shifts.

You will be reporting in to our Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a small packing team during assigned shifts
Allocate tasks and ensure staff work efficiently to meet deadlines
Ensure all fruit is packed accurately and meets quality control standards
Carry out quality checks and address any issues promptly
Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy warehouse and packing area at all times
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
Open and close the warehouse as required, including responsibility for locking up the premises
Communicate effectively with management regarding stock, staffing, and any operational issues

Skills & Experience Required:

Previous experience supervising or leading a small team (warehouse, packing, or similar environment preferred)
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
High attention to detail, particularly for quality control
Reliable, trustworthy, and responsible, with a strong work ethic
Able to work independently and make decisions when required

Working Hours:

Sunday: 9:00am – 4:00pm (approx.)
Monday: 5:00pm – 9:00pm (approx.)
Tuesday: 5:00pm – 8:45pm (approx.)

Additional hours may be required during busy periods.

Bank Holidays:

On applicable bank holidays, shifts move to Monday through to Wednesday. Availability on these days is essential.

Some flexibility may be required depending on workload and operational needs
