This beautiful antique wardrobe/armoire built by Wolfe and Hollander Ltd, London has been restored and finished in a moody blue-grey mineral chalk paint. It has been lightly distressed and sealed with both clear and dark wax to enhance the depth of colour and create a subtle, time-worn patina.
The interior is divided into two practical sections. On the left, there is a full-length hanging rail. On the right, there is a shorter hanging rail (that takes smaller hangers) for jackets or shirts with three shelves below for folded clothes or accessories. At the bottom, there are additional rails designed for shoe storage.
The exterior doors are half mirrored. The mirrors show some age-related dark spotting and a few light surface scratches consistent with their age as shown in the pictures.
The piece is very heavy and solid oak construction. It is in good antique condition, with minor age-related marks and imperfections that add to its charm. There are historical signs of woodworm on the back panel; these are long gone and have been treated as a precaution (not visible when placed against a wall).
The interior has been cleaned and polished and the piece is ready for immediate use.
