Description

The best of Volvo XC 70 Estate cars. This Oct 2012 manual model with only 2 owners since new is the best car I have ever had and ticks all the boxes. With a mileage of 178,000 it sounds a lot, but the last Volvo I had I sold at 245,000 miles-still going strong. This Volvo Estate is excellent for carrying long loads, the rear seats fold flat all or 2/1. We have carried small trees and many plants on long journeys. A swing down dog guard/luggage safety grid is included in the package.
Both front seats have electric heating and the driver's seat is electrically positioned with memory. Aircon is essential in some of the weather we have recently experienced and for demisting if damp. Satellite Navigation is central and easy to operate for both passenger or driver. Cruise control and audio controls are located both centrally and on the steering wheel. Both wing mirrors are controlled from the driver's door panel. The dipped headlights are always on when driving and during hours of darkness, they can be seen to follow round corners to assist.
The diesel fuel tank of about 75 litres is quite able to support a journey of 700 miles and the current average MPG indicator is giving an average of over 39 MPG since new. The 2400 CC turbo diesel gives a calculated power of 212 BHP which is excellent for acceleration to give safe passing on some of our minor roads.
The car is regularly serviced by the local garage, who is not a Volvo dealer. Any remarks or failures in the annual MOT inspection are attended to very quickly. The garage tends to use the MOT inspection as a guide to fault finding but all failures have been attended to in the past within the 10 day period of grace due to the availability of spare parts. The car also visits a Volvo dealer when there is a complex fault which cannot be easily rectified by the local garage. The last visit in 2024 was for a health check which it passed without a problem and the fitting of a new computer, which was beyond the scope of our local mechanic. All 4 alloy 17 inch wheels with 55 profile tyres, were refurbished in 2022.
There are a couple of minor damages to the bodywork, which are insignificant to the looks or handling of the car. The tyres have between 4 and 5mm of tread and the "get you home" spare is as new. There is only one set of keys.
I am selling the car due to age and the need to buy a newer diesel car to carry us on for the next 10 years, whilst the EV becomes proven or NOT!! The sale will be as seen "No warranty implied or given." The current MOT expires 18.10.2026.
