Based: Home based, with regular travel across North Tyneside to meet clients and attend work-related meetings

Contract: Permanent

Rate: £27,000 – £28,000 per annum

Start Date: ASAP – October 2026

Our client, a national harm reduction charity, is looking to recruit a Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Practitioner to deliver specialist behaviour change interventions to individuals who have used abusive behaviours within intimate or family relationships across North Tyneside.

The role will involve a combination of targeted one-to-one interventions, case management and group facilitation, working with individuals to recognise and take responsibility for their behaviour, understand the impact of domestic abuse and develop healthier and safer ways of managing relationships.

The postholder will be part of a small specialist team responsible for delivering high-quality perpetrator interventions. You will undertake initial assessments, risk assessments and ongoing reviews, identifying individual needs, risks and suitability for intervention and determining the most appropriate pathway of support.

You will work with clients through either structured one-to-one behavioural change interventions or a 24-week group programme. Both approaches are focused on challenging abusive behaviours, attitudes and beliefs, promoting accountability and supporting individuals to make meaningful and sustainable changes.

The postholder will work closely with victim and survivor support services and other professionals to ensure that risk is effectively managed and that the safety and wellbeing of current or former partners and children remain central to the work. You will contribute to safety planning, multi-agency discussions and ongoing reviews where required.

The role will also involve challenging the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours that underpin domestic abuse, while supporting clients to develop greater awareness of the impact of their behaviour on partners, children, families and wider communities. xjnqpsq

You will build effective relationships with statutory and voluntary-sector agencies and may contribute to community engagement, professional awareness and partnership activities aimed at improving understanding of domestic abuse and promoting effective responses to perpetrators.

Essential Requirements:

· Experience of working directly with perpetrators or victims/survivors of domestic abuse, or with individuals presenting with vulnerable and complex needs (i.e substance misuse, offending behaviour, young people etc)

· Experience of undertaking or contributing to risk assessments, safeguarding and safety planning

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to appropriately challenge attitudes and behaviours

· Strong partnership and multi-agency working skills

· Good understanding of safeguarding and information-sharing requirements
