Selling as spares or repair due to an engine fault.

The car recently developed a misfire/mechanical issue on cylinder 3. My garage has carried out a pressure/compression test and confirmed significant pressure loss on cylinder 3. They believe this is an internal mechanical problem, potentially a valve or piston issue. They were unable to inspect internally with a camera, so the exact cause has not been confirmed.

Due to the age/value of the vehicle, the garage has advised me that it isn’t economically worthwhile for them to strip the engine down further and has suggested replacement of the engine may be the more economical option.

The car is currently non-running and will need to be recovered/towed. It is being sold strictly as spares or repair.

I’ve owned the car for several years and it has been regularly maintained, with invoices available. Considerable work has been carried out recently, including:

* July 2026 – £776: new oil cooler with housing, coolant/water pipe, coolant and associated work.
* May 2026 – approx. £500+: full service including oil/filter, air and cabin filters, brake-fluid service, 2 new Kumho tyres, both front anti-roll-bar links and wheel balancing.
* January 2026 – £223: front coil spring and top mount replaced.
* December 2024 – £123: Bosch battery.
* October 2024 – £259: clutch master cylinder replaced.
* Previous servicing, brakes and other maintenance also documented.

Overall the car is in reasonable condition for its age and mileage. It has been used as my work vehicle, so it’s not immaculate, but it has served me well until this engine problem.

Ideal for someone mechanically minded who can repair it, fit another engine, or use it for parts.
