MOT until July 2026
Bought this car for my missus in July 2025 as a temporary runaround while we saved for her next one. Picked it for the bulletproof, efficient engine - and it hasn’t let us down. Its been on SORN since October.
We’ve done around 4,000 miles with no issues. I replaced the rear nearside shock for the MOT, which it passed with just one advisory (rear offside shock). Oil was changed straight away with VW 506.01 spec oil.
No history before my ownership, but the engine and gearbox run strong and smooth.
A few small bits worth mentioning:
• Front droplinks could do with replacing within the next 6-12 months
• Rear wiper arm needs replacing
• Both front wings have rust and could do with swapping out
• Thermostat needs replacing
• Fuel filler switch is temperamental (can be opened manually from the boot)
• Instrument cluster isnt smooth. I would describe it like a clock ticking - still works but isnt smooth. The clocks are still readable and doesnt affect drive.
Please note, this is a fully driveable car with minor issues. Very economical, perfect for saving money as a temp car or a first car.
