2009 Volkswagen Golf 1.6 Petrol Manual - Silver
126,000 miles
MOT until May 2027
Good reliable car overall that drives perfectly fine once running. Smooth gearbox, comfortable drive and ideal cheap runaround/daily commuter.
Bodywork has dents and scratches around the car as expected for a 16-year-old vehicle, but nothing unusual for its age.
Major issue:
The car has an intermittent starting issue when the engine is warm. It starts first time perfectly in the morning from cold, but throughout the day it can sometimes take 5-6 minutes and a few attempts to start again.
I've replaced:
* Fuel pump
* Camshaft sensor
* Battery (replaced July 2025)
l've taken it to garages 2-3 times and they believe it could be some sort of sensor issue, but nobody has been able to pinpoint the exact fault. Once the car starts, it drives completely fine with no driving issues at all.
I simply haven't got the time to keep investigating it anymore, so I'm selling it as seen and reflected in the price.
