Description
*** Selling the car on behalf of a friend who lives in Kent (the car is in Norfolk)
Golf 1.6 diesel spares or repair. 180k, recently serviced and cambelt / water pump fresh at 140k. The basis of a decent car with tidy interior and very good bodywork/tyres. It's spares or repair because seems to suffer from an intermittent gearbox connection fault making gear selection and sometimes engine starting impossible. The engine is very good and gearbox works when it's working, you'll need to trailer it home.
I'm not a mechanic but when I unplugged the gearbox and plugged it back in the car drove for two miles before fault returned. Previous to that it drove 10 miles before fault. I don't think it'll be a difficult or expensive fix to have an excellent car.
Sensible offers considered.
