The Full Story (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly)

THE GOOD: Mechanically Bulletproof. If you want a car to pose in, keep scrolling. If you want a family hauler that won't break down because an obsessive owner fixed everything in advance, read on.

I treated this as our "forever car," so I didn't skimp on maintenance. It has a full service history under my ownership with receipts to prove it.

Fresh Service & MOT: Full intermediate service done 2 weeks ago (Nov 26, 2025) along with an MOT. It’s good to go for a year.

New Tyres: Replaced rear tyres with quality Falkens and had a 4-wheel alignment done in June 2025.

Brakes: Front brake pads and discs were replaced in June 2025.

Suspension: Lower suspension arm bushes and anti-roll bar bushes replaced in Oct 2024. No knocks or rattles.

Air Con: Regassed and leak-checked in June 2025. Ice cold.

Engine: New Lambda sensor fitted Oct 2024 to clear a sensor fault.

Extras: Comes with roof bars for extra storage.

THE BAD: The Dent. About two months ago, a white van driver decided he liked my lane better than his. The result is a dent over the driver-side rear wheel. It doesn't affect the door or the drive, but it’s there.

THE UGLY: The Ceiling. The headliner started sagging (a classic VW trait). Rather than wrestle with glue, I stapled it back up. It is secure. It is functional. It looks like the inside of a padded cell. If you are sitting in the back, you are probably a child, so you won't care.

THE MATHS (Why it’s £3,700) A mechanically perfect example with this mileage sits around £5,500.

I have knocked off £800 for the dent.

I have knocked off £1,000 for the headliner (I checked the repair costs).
