Positioned above the Golf GTi, it combined sharp handling with distinctive styling and innovative technology for its time. The G60 designation referred to its unique G-Lader supercharger, a spiral-type compressor that boosted the 1.8 litre inlinefour engine to produce around 160hp. This gave the Corrado brisk acceleration, reaching 0-60mph in just over eight seconds, impressive for a frontwheeldrive car of its era. Beyond performance, the Corrado G60 featured a driver-focused cockpit, supportive sport seats, and high-quality materials that set it apart from other VW models. Its aerodynamic body incorporated a sleek hatch design and an active rear spoiler that automatically deployed at higher speeds, a rare feature in its segment. Today, the 1991 Corrado G60 is celebrated as a distinctive, underrated classic that captured Volkswagens pursuit of innovation and character.This rare 1991 Volkswagen Corrado G60 with only three owners has the five-speed manual gearbox and was purchased by the current owner in 1998. In his ownership he has spent £14,000 on having the engine rebuilt and all the mechanics gone through with J Tech Automotive and £9,000 spent on restoring and repainting the car with Caversham Coachworks. Finished in blue with a black leather interior it is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in July 2026, handbook pack, a service book which is stamped up to 1999 and invoices from J Tech Automotive to present day.
