Female singer wanted for experimental recording project

I've recently started making music again after nearly twenty years of recording and releasing work both solo and with One More Grain, a music project I founded in 2006.

Over the years I've made a fairly strange collection of records drawing on experimental rock, gamelan, ambient music, folk, post-punk, psychedelic music, spoken word, drones and whatever else seemed worth throwing into the mix. One More Grain received some very good reviews, including a Sunday Times Album of the Week, and was played on BBC Radio 1, Radio 3 and 6 Music.

I'm not interested in resurrecting a band or spending my life playing gigs. I'd rather make records.

So I'm looking for a female singer with an interesting or distinctive voice who might enjoy experimenting with some new material.

I'm not looking for the usual technically perfect vocalist to come along, sing a pre-written melody and go home. I'm more interested in what happens when another person brings their own musical personality into something - perhaps singing, perhaps writing, perhaps completely changing what I thought a piece was going to be.

My music has always been fairly difficult to categorise and I'd like to keep it that way. There may be atmosphere and drones, strange rhythms, words, gamelan influences, experimental rock, folk elements and the occasional left turn into somewhere considerably less sensible.

This would primarily be a recording collaboration, probably starting with one or two pieces and seeing what happens. No band, no weekly rehearsals and no expectation of playing live at this stage.

You don't need professional experience. I'd much rather hear an individual voice with character than someone who can flawlessly reproduce somebody else's record.

I'm based in South Lanarkshire, but southern or central Scotland is absolutely fine for the right collaboration.
