Panasonic NV-HS800 S-VHS VCR / Video Recorder (7-Head Hi-Fi Stereo) - Tested Working (£120 O.N.O)
Sheffield, South Yorkshire
£120
Description
For sale is a highly regarded Panasonic NV-HS800 Super VHS (S-VHS) video cassette recorder. Open to sensible offers
This model features the legendary, ultra-reliable Panasonic K-Deck mechanism and amorphous 7-head configuration (4x video, 2x audio, 1x flying erase). It is widely considered by enthusiasts and archivists to be one of the best consumer units available for digitizing and archiving old VHS/S-VHS tapes due to its rock-solid playback stability and Hi-Fi stereo tracking.
Condition & Testing:
The unit is in working order. I purchased this approximately 18 months ago for a project but it has been safely stored and completely unused since then.
To ensure it is fully functional before selling, I hooked the unit up to a CRT television via SCART yesterday. The power supply is perfect, the motorized tape carriage loads and ejects tapes smoothly, and both video playback and tracking performed fine on the test tape.
Please note: This listing is for the main VCR unit and power cable only. The original remote control is NOT included.
Key Specs:
Super VHS (S-VHS) and standard VHS playback
7-Head Amorphous Hi-Fi Stereo system
Panasonic K-Deck mechanics
SCART, S-Video, and standard AV phono connections on the rear panel
I have recorded a quick video of the VCR running yesterday which can be viewed via the YouTube link below, giving you total peace of mind before you travel. (cut and paste link into browser)

Cash on collection only from Sheffield. I will not post this due to the weight and the fragility of vintage tape mechanisms in transit.
