Description
Fine example of a Troika “Spice Jar”, featuring different abstract shapes on its four panels, coloured black, green and beige.
At a time when Cornish ceramics were largely rustic and tunctional, Troika challenged convention with textured surfaces, abstract designs, and geometric carvings, creating pieces more aligned with modern art than traditional domestic pottery.
From the beginning, Troika focused on vision, experimentation, and pushing clay into the realm of contemporary art, rather than producing conventional tableware.
