Volkswagen Caddy Maxi C20 Camper - 153,xxx miles - £5,000

Selling my Caddy Maxi which I’ve owned for around a year. I converted it myself into a little day/weekend camper. It’s been great for festivals, fishing, camping and weekends away.

It’s had quite a bit of money spent on it while I’ve owned it, including:

* Timing belt and water pump done around 2,000 miles ago
* Injector replaced
* Full suspension overhaul
* Adjustable coilovers on the front
* New rear shocks and rear beam flip
* Front discs and pads
* Service done around 3,000 miles ago
* Will come with 12 months MOT

It’s only had 2 owners from new. The first owner had it from new and I’ve had it for the last year. There’s quite a bit of service history with it, although it isn’t complete.

The camper side of things has:

* Golf R32 seats
* Apple CarPlay head unit
* S3 8V alloys which have recently been refurbished
* Fully sound deadened and insulated
* Carpeted rear
* Herringbone lino flooring
* 130ah leisure battery
* DC-DC charger
* Diesel heater plumbed into the fuel tank
* USB sockets
* LED lights
* 12v sockets ready for a fridge/TV etc
* Blackout curtains
* Bed and under-bed storage

The van isn’t perfect and I’ve tried to price it accordingly.

The main thing to mention is the clutch. It feels like it’s getting towards needing replacing. It goes into every gear fine and doesn’t slip, but it can occasionally feel stiff going in and out of gear. I’ve driven it like this for the whole year I’ve owned it and it’s never stopped me using the van. You do get used to it and it hasn’t bothered me too much.

The bodywork also isn’t the best as it was previously an ex-plasterer’s van. The main damage is to the passenger-side sliding door. My original plan was to get a Caddy Life door and swap it over, which would also give the option of having a window in the door.

There is also a crack in the windscreen.

Other than the above, the van drives well and has no known engine issues. It’s had a fair amount of mechanical work done recently and the camper conversion is ready to use.

I’m not trying to hide anything with the van, hence putting everything above in the advert. It’s a really handy little camper and I’m only selling it to move onto something a bit bigger.
