1972 LAND ROVER SERIES III 88” | 2.25 PETROL | FAIREY OVERDRIVE | £11,995. \nAn honest, usable and wonderfully characterful early Series III — still being used by its owner today. Dating from 1972, DCV 696K is one of the early Series III Land Rovers and is powered by the legendary 2,286cc four-cylinder petrol engine. Finished in classic Land Rover green with canvas hood, this is not being presented as a freshly restored showpiece — rather, it is an honest, usable classic Land Rover with plenty of character, which starts, runs and drives and can be enjoyed immediately while giving its next owner the opportunity to improve it cosmetically over time. The car has been with its current owner for approximately 20 years, since 2006, and has continued to be used rather than simply stored away.\nOne particularly desirable feature is the Fairey overdrive, giving the Series III an additional high ratio and making longer road journeys considerably more relaxed. Recent work includes a replacement slave cylinder and four new tyres fitted in August 2026. The Land Rover also comes with original documentation.
