I’m currently recruiting for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Officer to join a Local Authority in the South West on a long-term interim basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in temporary accommodation, homelessness, housing options or housing management who is confident managing both residents and properties.

You’ll take responsibility for a portfolio of temporary accommodation, working closely with homeless households, landlords, accommodation providers and internal housing teams. The role covers the full range of day-to-day issues, from placements and tenancy management to arrears, repairs, inspections and void management.

* Arranging placements for households presenting as homeless and ensuring residents receive the appropriate information when moving into accommodation.

* Managing day-to-day tenancy and licence matters, including breaches, arrears and tenancy changes.

* Monitoring voids and occupancy levels, with a focus on reducing empty accommodation and associated costs.

* Keeping property, resident and financial records accurate and up to date.

* Monitoring temporary accommodation expenditure and producing KPIs and performance reports.

* Using Excel and Power BI to analyse occupancy, financial and performance information.

* Ensuring all activity complies with relevant housing and homelessness legislation, statutory guidance and health & safety requirements.
